Sample Schedule

Below is an outline of what we do at Camp COMMIT during the week. Most days we stick to the schedule pretty well, but there are always changes and a little bit of flexibility. For more information and details about the camp, email us at ourthotfulspot@yahoo.com or head over to www.campcommit.org.

Saturday

10:00 – 12:00 Arrival

12:00 – 12:40 Lunch

12:45 – 2:00 Rules/Icebreakers

2:00 – 4:30 Swimming/Free Time

4:30 – 5:15 Introduction/Short lesson

5:30 – 6:30 Dinner

6:45 – 7:45 Lesson by keynote speaker on the year’s theme (In 2010 the theme was “Commit to God and Purity”)

7:45 – 9:30 Movie

9:40 – 10:15 Evening Devotion

10:15 – 11:00 Settle in for the night

11:00 Lights Out

Sunday

8:00 – 9:00 Breakfast

9:00 - 12:00 Worship at local Church of Christ

12:00 – 12:40 Lunch

12:45 – 2:00 Rest

2:00 – 3:30 Craft

3:30 – 4:30 Modesty Lesson

4:30 – 5:15 Individual devotion/Study time

5:30 – 6:30 Dinner

6:45 – 7:45 Evening Worship

7:45 – 9:30 Baking/Crafts/Free time

9:40 – 10:15 Evening devotion

10:15 – 11:00 Settle in for the night

11:00 Lights Out

Monday thru Friday:

7:45 – 8:20 Morning Devotions

8:20 – 9:00 Breakfast

9:00 – 10:20 Lesson by kenote speaker on the year’s theme

10:30 – 11:00 Lesson on secondary topic (such as “How to study your Bible”)

11:00 – 12:00 Individual devotions

12:00 – 12:40 Lunch/Rest

12:45 – 1:15 Community Service

1:15 – 2:30 Life Lessons (Practical lessons, such as “Meal Planning on a Budget”)

2:30 – 3:30 Girl Talk (An open discussion time where staff members answer questions regarding various topics such as dating, feminism, evangelism, and modesty)

3:30 – 5:15 Recreation (Swimming, waterballoon fights, nature hikes, etc.)

5:15 – 5:45 Singing/Prayer

5:45 – 6:30 Dinner

6:45 – 7:45 Lesson by keynote speaker

7:45 – 8:45 Baking/Crafts (includes lessons on sewing, crocheting, cooking and other homemaking skills)

8:45 – 9:30 Games/Free Time (on Friday during this time we have the closing ceremony, slide show, skits and free time until lights out)

9:40 – 10:15 Evening Devotions

10:15 – 11:00 Settle in for the night

11:00 Lights Out

Saturday

8:20 – 9:00 Breakfast

9:00 – 10:20 Clean Up

10:30 – 11:00 Departure
